Exactly. Silt coming out of the Mississippi River, I believe.
And though South Padre probably has the state's best beaches, I still really love Galveston the city, and am happy to have it so close to Houston. The historic areas are so neat, really a treasure for Texas...
Everytime it's a CA vs FL, or CA vs TX, or TX vs FL, there is ALWAYS a certain group of people from a certain somewhere that ask for that NONE, option. We get it!!!!! You hate hot weather, sprawl, and palm trees.LOL
Those people are rude. Why can't they just NOT respond to the post.
Throw in New Mexico and you would have my favorite states.
California will always be number one because its home and the natural scenery and outdoor activities. Only place you can surf and ski in the same day and make it to the desert for dinner.
Texas is my adopted home. I love it here too.
Ive always loved Miami and Southern Florida. If I wasnt living here or California, Miami would be next on m list.
There are MANY parts of the state where you don't ever see tourists or retirees.
Actually I have. I have relatives living in the Tampa Bay Area and I have been to Orlando, Melbourne, and Miami at least once. I have not had the opportunity to go to Northern Florida, but you can't tell me with a straight face that the coastline is not way too over developed.
Not to mention in places like Sarasota and other places along the Gulf Coast, I swear at least half of the population is at least over 60.
I still go with Texas, although there are many things I love about California and Florida
