We Texans consider New Mexico and Colorado to be the two largest counties in West Texas. We go skiing in their mountains in the winter and go their mountains in the summer to escape the Texas heat. Now, those places don't really take a liking to us Texans, but, they are poor and we are rich, so they need our money.

California can probably take Nevada. Tahoe/Reno and Las Vegas are vacation hot spots for us out here in California....other than that not too much else going on in Nevada.

5. the Upper Peninsula of MI needs to go to Wisconsin

6. combine the Carolinas

7. the northern panhandle of Texas should go to Oklahoma

8. the western panhandle of Texas needs to go to New Mexico
Why would New Jersey go to Pennsylvania when the majority of the population is in the NYC metro area?

Long Island should stay with NY, unless of course you want to annex Brooklyn and Queens also since they are both geographically part of Long Island too. I suppose you could give Nassau to NYC, but then the logical point would be to give Suffolk to Connecticut. It's way to far away from NJ and you cant take the Port Jeff or Orient Point Ferries to get to Ct.

I would say that New Mexicans(ABQ and on West) consider Eastern NM part of West Texas, its not like the rest of the state, you dont see the adobes, chile ristras, native americans, turquoise, mountians(except for Ruidoso area) or hills and a different culture of people, its exactly like West Texas.

and while I agree most New Mexicans dont like Texans, alot of Eastern NM residents are ex-Texans. Im from Eastern NM btw. You just have to excuse some of these ignorant people here in NM, these people live in a box and if its not done the NM way then its weird.

I say throw Eastern NM into West TX, it blends in with the-

corn,cotton,peanuts fields
the grain elevators
the dairy's
the yalls
the food
the TX chains restaurants
the plains
the wind and tornadoes
the buildings and the housing styles, the yards
the churches, the conservativness
the higher Mexican population

All of this is not common in the rest of NM.

Hell No!
The U.P. was our "consolation prize" for "ceding" Toledo to Ohio.
It is our playground, its population our source of amusement. We're keeping it. And we may just take back Toledo!...On second thought.

Just combine the all of the New England states into one big state with Boston as it capital city.

But what would you name this state? New England maybe???

I studied history and know why the UP belongs to MI. But the reasoning behind it was nonsensical. Even without the UP, Michigan would be the same size as Indiana or Ohio. But much of the UP (at least the western half) has more in common with Green Bay or Wisocnsin and roots for the Packers than it does with cities in lower MI and cheering for the Lions.
