Southern California has the most diversity in Asian groups, while NYC has an edge on Latinos and Black diversity with many Caribbeans/Afro-Latinos there.

I'd give it to New York. While LA is also very diverse, it seems to be that most of LA's minority population are Mexicans. In New York, it is more well represented and no1 group dominates really.

Thank you!
One really gets a different picture seeing the absolute numbers instead of percentages.

But overall all I think NYC is more diverse. A very large percentage of SoCal is Hispanic and mostly Mexican with a few Central American. NYC has Hispanics from a huge number of places. NYC also has a far greater number of African American and Blacks from all over the World (Carribbian, African, Cubans, Dominicans, Hatians, etc.) and about as large an Asian presence. I also think the whites in NYC are more often from other countries than in L.A.. In NYC you have a huge number of Irish, Italian, Jewish, Russian, etc. You have them in L.A. too but Caucasians there are more likely to be plain Anglo Saxon than in NYC.
Lol I think spiderman is from Hell's Kitchen, a neighborhood in Manhattan.

socal is wayyy more RACIALLY diverse. This is statistically obvious. However, the NYC area is slightly more ethnically diverse, having a broader representation of groups from around the world. If you excluded the Hispanics in LA (Hispanics are to LA what 3rd-4th generation ethnic whites are to NYC), I think the LA area has nearly as diverse an immigrant stock, but the NYC area still takes the cake in terms of number of nations represented.
