Climate / weather
Texas Hill Country for milder winters, Piedmont Atlantic for milder summers.
Cost of living
Piedmont Atlantic
Scenic beauty
Piedmont Atlantic has the rugged topography of the Hill Country, but with much more trees.
Natural disaster risk (fire, hurricane, earthquake, tornado, flooding)
Texas Hill Country is safer due to less storms.
Ability to garden / grow things outdoors
The Piedmont offers easier working conditions (rainier climate, better soil), but the Texas Hill Country has mild winters for more tender plant diversity.
Wildlife / birdlife abundance and species diversity.
Perhaps Piedmont on an overall species diversity basis, especially moisture-loving organisms (plants, amphibians, etc). But the Texas Hill Country is a known biodiversity hotspot, yielding many endemic species like the Texas blind salamander.
Outdoor Activities
Piedmont stands out as the greater tree coverage gives way to many forest-based outdoor activities.
Verdict
The Piedmont overall is better. But the Hill Country is still a great region worth exploring.

The Piedmont are the eastern foothills of the Appalachians, they run all the way north to NYC and do not include Nashville. I am confused by this poll.
Piedmont is greener and has more variety. But Texas hill country is quite scenic in spots. I'd still go Piedmont Atlantic for its green rolling hills and views of the Blue Ridge.
Both are beautiful areas of the country. The hill country in Texas will get my vote because it's milder and I like how the landscape has a East meets West look with the greenery, rocks, cactus, etc.
I voted for Texas Hill Country because it has better, more diverse birdlife, milder winters, and a drier climate. However, I really like the Western North Carolina and North Georgia Mountains as well.
6. Wildlife / birdlife abundance and species diversity.
7. Outdoor Activities

Agreed. Nashville is not in the Piedmont and should not have been included in this poll.
