Ax to grind? I was asked why I thought Miami's skyline was hideous and now you are going to question my response? Whatever.
I'd like to add that even though Miami's skyline has grown by leaps and bounds in recent years, it already looks dated...to me. I give it a 10 year shelf life before EVERYONE starts calliing Miami's skyline unattractive.
Just look at the highrises that line Miami Beach - bleeech! Honolulu's skyline also resembles commie block highrises from some angles.
Yes, I am, since I vehemently disagree with it. You can expect the same from me in the future.
LOL....funniest thing I've ever read. Can you please post links to back up your claim?
Post links to back it up? Those figures can be found in City Data, Wikepedia, World Book Almanac, the U.S.Census,etc. It's simply true. Miami has more population density than Philadelphia.
Seeing the skylines in person, though, I liked Philly's skyline but to me it wasn't outstanding. I think the way the ocean reflects the lights of Miami, the whole scene is just beautiful.
The most breathtaking U.S. skyline of course is New York, not that that has not been established 1 million times already. I just had a flashback and wanted to mention how astonishing it is!
Ok, the incredible enthusiasm that Philly fans have for their skyline lead me to believe I must have really missed something the times I went to Philadelphia or the thousands of times I looked at pictures. I just can't seem to see how it's so superior in density and beauty to everything on earth. The way you Philly folks talk you would think it's almost dense enough to achieve critical mass and spark a nuclear explosion.
So I decided to look from a different perspective. I scoured youtube for videos of both cities for a comparison. After looking at several homemade films from Philly residents that were god awful I decided to do you all a favor and use video's from Freewayjim for the city. (He's a very good video maker in this category and Philly residents though extremely endeared and passionate about their city seem to all be about the worst video makers I've ever seen. Trust me they don't make you're city look good at all).
So here are some excellent video's of your city taken by Freewayjim. Granted you can't see everything but he uses the same method of filming for all cities so it's fair. Make of them what you will. My opinion? Well I'll just say maybe living in Philly effects your eyesight or perception of reality. Good lookin skyline but just can't see what you're talking about. Anyway here they are.
Wow that last Miami video makes Philly look like pure $hit. Hot damn Miami looks sexy!

Just when you thought Miami was all modern, here is a 16th century Italian Villa Estate known as Villa Vizcaya.just a mile out of Downtown Miami south of the Rickenbacker Causeway.
