The words..I have heard women say "yo son" just like the men and it doesn't sound hot.

Um, yeah, on tv. I'd say only like 5% of women in NYC actually say that. Guys say that. Why would the women of NY sound butch? We all don't naturally have a low sounding voice

Calm down Rachael, you said all southern people sound slow and it wasn't true so why you get upset? Do you sound like a man?

Lol, one thing I never heard anywhere else is that a lot of females in NY call each other the "N Word", its usually just used with guys everywhere else but in NY its both males & females.

When they "talk like men" it doesn't bother me (its actually normal), maybe its because I'm used to it?

Its not every NY female though.

I've always thought this too, judging from reality shows and all that, the women do sound like men, even the hot ones have a voice that is a turn-off.

I prefer the northern accent. Some southerners cut their words in half like colle instead of college, ma instead of mall, etc. I am not making this up, it's fact for some but not all.

The Northern accent is my favorite especially the accent from New Jersey, Philadelphia, and New York City.
