In NJ, you have more (world class) amenities in a 65 mile radius than anywhere else in the country.

New York is beautiful too, but NJ generally has the better location. Even if NYC is in NY, I'd say there's more people living in NJ that are closer and have better access to NYC than the non NYCers living in NYS.

Property taxes in both states will eat you alive.

This is true.

NYC has far, far more in common with Jersey than anywhere upstate.

aside from nyc i prefer new jersey. i think northern new jersey blows up state out the water.

but i do like long island though.
