He's right. Go to Europe or Asia and almost nobody could identify the Atlanta, Dallas, or Denver skylines. Those cities have zero internationally-recognizable structures or buildings.
Because they are not huge international draws but they do have buildings that IF people know those cities, the will know them by certain highrises.
Who is arguing that those cities are recognizeable internationally?Im not saying they are but they do have more standout builing that are more memorable and recognizable than Toronto.
No they don't. Toronto's Royal York Hotel, Casa Loma, First Canadian Place, and Scotia Plaza are all more memorable and recognizable than any building in Atlanta, Denver, or Dallas. If you Atlanta has any buildings more recognizable or memorable than those Toronto buildings I just listed, you're just being an Atlanta homer.
Casa Loma for example has been used in many different movie shoots.

And Dallas has a Tower to BTW.
No. If people know Atlanta it's because of CNN or Atlanta. If people know Dallas it's because of the t.v. show. If people know Seattle it's because of MS, Starbucks, or Boeing.
None of those cities are known internationally by any of their highrises.
LOL. The CN Tower was the world's tallest free-standing structure for 40+ years. What's Dallas' tower's claim to fame? Looking like an oversized disco ball on a grey popsicle stick? LOL.
I'm curious as to which buildings specifically in Atlanta, Dallas, and Denver that you think are more memorable or recognizable than the Toronto buildings I listed. Because there are none.
Well i said high rises. What building in Toronto do u think is memorable or recognizeable?
Where is the tallest building in North Anerica outside of NYC and Chicago in North America?
First Canadian Place (in Toronto) has the tallest pinnacle height 355 m (1,165 ft) than any building outside of NYC/Chicago built, under construction or proposed.

That was not my point.Give me the most recognizeabl or memorable building in Toronto in your opinion.

You're welcome
Now put hat building in a poll among other tallest in Several N American cities without naming bthe cities thry are in and see if peole can name them and where they are.
No they don't. None of those cities have any standout buildings that are memorable or recognizable outside the United States. We may recognize them because we are skyscraper/city geeks. But there are no buildings in Seattle, Denver, Dallas, or Atlanta that are more recognizable, memorable, or famous than even Toronto's Royal York Hotel.
You may think Denver's "cash register" buildings is well-known and immediately associated with Denver. That is only to us skyscraper geeks. Outside of us, few people outside Colorado would recognize it in a picture, or could tell you what city it's in.
Pretty much.
If you Google 'Wells Fargo Center', the first and only thing that comes up is the arena in Philly. No mention of the 'cash register' building in Denver at all, until several pages later (I stopped looking after page 5 on Google and still didn't see anything). I guess it just doesn't 'register' (no pun intended) with people outside Colorado on a national or international level.
Seattle's Space Needle is somewhat international, and the CN Tower an international symbol. Some posters have resort to now exclude CN Tower and attempt to find flaws in Toronto's remaining tall, rapidly growing sklyline just make other cities like Denver and Dallas look good but it's unfortuntelay not working. lol
Toronto having the tallest freestanding structure in the western hesmiphere and the third tallest skyline in North America is hard to beat. And certainly Denver, Dallas and Atlanta can't do it.

According to official list, you are wrong
More people could name it than any building in Atlanta, Dallas, or Denver, that's for sure. Toronto has several buildings that are more famous than any building in any of those three cities.

I already gave you a list of 5 or 6 buildings a few posts back. ALL of those buildings are far more famous than any building in Atlanta, Dallas, or Denver.
