Which state do you prefer?
Both states are similar because of the mountians and climate but they still have many differences.
I think i would choose Colorado because Denver is nice and i think colorado is a little bit more affordable (at least looking at properties in realtor)
I like Colorado slightly more than Utah but i think they both great!

You are correct, these "neighbors" are quite different. Both have great recreational opportunities, but even the scenery is different. Yes, the LDS Church is quite dominant in Utah, but slowly becoming less so every year. Utah, as one might expect, is quite a bit more conservative than Colorado.

The other big difference is in CO, from The Front Range east, it basically is Kansas. Utah has some of the most unique and interesting scenery in the U.S., and the CO Rockies are not too shabby either.

Did you forget about the 2002 Olympics? Utah vs. BYU? Sundance film fest? Park City? How about the international mountain biking mecca that IS Moab?? Or about a half dozen ski resorts within a half hour drive of Salt Lake? Where else can you ski at a world class resort after work and be back for dinner (OK fine...it would have to be a late dinner)?

Utah = Mormons is so uninformed...take it from someone who lived in SLC for 5 years.

Plus...when Denver starts measuring its snow in feet, we get a few inches in Town, and it melts the next day, and we play golf the day after.

You can't discount the LDS influence in Utah. It is quite real, but at the same time it doesn't completely define the State, and non-LDS can still live comfortably in Utah without being subjected to this influence if they choose.

Colorado is beautiful, no doubt about it (well, the western half at least). I-70 through the Colorado Rockies is probably the most beautiful stretch of interstate in the country.

But Utah is just stunning. It's got mountains that are just as beautiful as what Colorado has, plus Utah has plenty of things to see that can't be found in Colorado.

Well, truth be told, SW CO does offer some scenery similar to what you can find in areas of UT, but overall, I agree that UT is more scenic than CO.
