Wow I never knew 1/3rd of Detroit was impoverished, I know NYC has a lot of poverty but it has a lot of people to offset the percentage.

Cities that surprised me for how high they were on the list:

Miami
Cincinnati
Dallas
Minneapolis
Columbus... wow thought Dayton would be the forth Ohio city.

Baltimore should have made this list for sure... typo?

Side note: Lists like this really prove how far Pittsburgh has come since the Steel industry collapse. Dare I say it should be a beacon of hope for the rest of the rust belt?

Just give Pittsburgh a couple of years and it won't have the minimum 250,000 population to even be on the list.

Don't you see these are all big cities? I believe they have a population minimum for the list.

There's something wrong with any list of the poorest cities in the United States that doesn't have East St. Louis, Illinois at the top.
