Not saying these are bad cities at all. They just were somewhat boring to me considering their size: Phoenix, San Jose, Denver, Columbus, and Orlando.

^^^

And btw, BORING all depends on what one is looking for. If you like deserts, then Phoenix is not boring. If you like beaches than as another poster said, it is not boring. If you like neat, clean and tidy places with lots of tidy subdivisions, then most sunbelt cities are not boring. Depends on what one is looking for.

Tempe is hardly boring, with tons of young people. I have had fun there, in Scottsdale, the Central Corridor, around Carefree/Cave Creek, Glendale, the Biltmore/Camelback area, etc.

Again, any metro of over 4 million people has something for anyone.
Agreed. If you get bored in an area of over 4 million people; hell 2 million people. You should just give up on life.

Then I'd say you're opinion is based on idiocy or flawed perception. Yeah, none of those towns have a damn thing going on: Disney World, SeaWorld, Universal Studios, The Rocky Mountains, major sports teams, art, history, world class resorts, boundless outdoor and urban adventure. Do your homework.

I agree completely. Saying that any metro over 4 million is boring means:

1) Youre not trying at all
2) You want to be bored
3) You like complaining because it makes you feel good

Saying any metro over 2 million is boring means:

1) Your lazy
2) The one thing the metro doesnt offer is your lifes passion

Pretty much every major metro is going to have good dining, lot of options in the arts, culture, a reasonably sized international community, and good shopping. Most also will have something for the outdoorsman as well.

San Antonio is by far the most boring large city in america. It's population is 1.3 million but it feels like a city of 400,000.

Done my homework, thank you and got an "A". Orlando theme parks, been there, done that many times. The THEME PARKS are not boring, the city is TO ME. No, my perception is based on MY personal perception, not yours. READ WHAT I SAID. I did not say they had NOTHING going on in them. I guess a person who disagrees with what some of the people on a C-D thread like this might think is fantastic, makes him an Idiot. Fact is I was bored in Denver, Phoenix, San Jose...sorry. Nice cities, just not MY kind of city.

Indianapolis, its nickname is "Naptown"! Right in the middle of Indiana. Why was Indiana made a state again?
