Well, I realize NYC has immensely more buildings, but certain parts of downtown LA remind me of the older sections years ago.

It sure is!

Not nearly as tall as LA, but easily twice as long because of Uptown connecting with Downtown.

LA is nothing next to NYC.

Dallas, because Dallas actually has a skyline appropriate for its size.

Hmm...

LA is taller, but Dallas is a lot longer with Uptown in the mix.

Dallas lights up better at night than LA too.

I'm not here to get involved in your building height pissing contest.

I have my own opinion about how I personally felt when I visited Los Angeles, and my experience reminded me of my stay in NYC, the hotel room, the subway ride, etc, the experience in general of being in a big city with lots of people.

Seeing as this is what I pulled up as the definition of 'skyline'

1. The line along which the surface of the earth and the sky appear to meet; the horizon.
2. The outline of a group of buildings or a mountain range seen against the sky.

It is a total no-brainer....LA all the way. To minimize or dismiss the mountains and topography of LA as not contributing to the skyline doesn't make sense. It's not a building comparison, it's a skyline comparison, and in this comparison, LA is hugely more appealing as a whole. I do like that 'lollipop' building though
