The point is that more people want to live in states like Texas, North Carolina, California etc. because of the opportunities there and quality of life. Someone posted a study on the states based on quality of life and .... surprise, all 3 were significantly higher than NY

Well-Being: Hawaii, Utah Still Top the Nation

lol most people think NY is a joke??? That's honestly the funniest thing I've EVER heard on C-D. Tell that to the 8 million annual visitors who come here. And the people on this site

Move to New York City

We have heard much funnier things from you on CD, however, as you have told us upon finding out things you did not like to hear on here, CD is not representative of the outside world

NYC is a joke to you, but not for the millions of visitors and new transplants we have here If it were a joke, it wouldn't be this expensive. I'm really starting to think you're jealous.

Millions of visitors and transplants in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Houston and Dallas as well..... most new transplants to NY are foreigners willing to live 10 to an apartment

Check out domestic migration. Many more leaving NY within America than moving there.

Given the fact that I would rather live in a compost heap than Long Island or anywhere in the downstate NY area, I highly doubt that jealous is a word that fits here concerning me.

Net Domestic Migration: Largest Counties in the United States: 2000-2005

New York counties mostly near the top

Before you say it..... LA and SD are much lower than NY as far as domestic migration losses...... and they are as expensive as NY is

I'll agree with you that the discrepancies between population and number of C-D postings are interesting. But I don't think one thing "should" follow the other. More people from one state or another happen to post on C-D; that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with population.

LOL, they got class compared to the many in South FL. Ever been to Boca Raton? Or anywhere in S FL for that matter.
