Nashville, Tennessee looks fairly important to specifically "Southern Gospel" and Gospel in general. Southern Gospel seems to mix with country music at times from what I can tell.
However what seems to be meant here is Gospel Music in general, rather than the genre of Southern Gospel. Going by that Chicago, Detroit, and Philadelphia seem to be somewhat significant. The Southern cities named as well, not sure which would be on top. Maybe Memphis or Dallas.

I thought Fred Hammond was from Detroit.
Also, NY has Donnie McClurkin.
What about Kirbyjon Caldwell for Houston?
Grand Rapids MI has Byron Cage and Marvin Sapp. Shirley Caesar is originally from Durham NC. I used to go her Conventions there when I was a kid. This is a group from my mother's hometown in SC: Gerald Sisters
You have the Hawkins family from San Francisco. Smokie Norful is from Pine Bluff AR. Micah Stampley is from Louisiana. You have Neville Peter from the Virgin Islands. There's the Pace family from Denver. I can go on......

As long as I can remember, coming down 95 south, always heard on the radio someone coming from Rocky Mount or going to RM for a concert, LOL!
