That may be true. I don't know. Houston has been building like crazy in TMC but hospitals aren't typically as tall as condos. The city is hesitant to go through another building boom. They had way over constructed in the 80's and don't really wont to go through that again. I get the filling Miami might be doing the same thing Houston did in the 70's and 80's. But, in Houston, with rapidly rising population, a growing economy, the development of a public rail systems, and property values quickly rising in the 610 Loop, it seems like Houston is in of another construction boom in the near future. Those are all factors that result high density neighborhoods and commercial centers with a lot of skyscrapers.
Either way, Houston and Miami are number 3 and 4. Maybe not in that order but either Houston or Miami is number 4 to answer the topic question.

Is LAs skyline bigger/denser than San Fran, Philly? If we're talking about more than just the CBD then ATL could be up there with Buckhead and midtown in addition to downtown. But I do agree that a criteria is needed. I would say more building over a certain height.

San Francisco definitely, Philly as well if considering Century City, Westwood, and the Valley (all are part of L.A. proper).

Thanks for that. I guess from what I've heard and the images I've seen, SFC looks to have a bigger skyline than LA.

This is a rather subjective thread. Is it fourth largest by height, amount, or "density"?
I'm sure Atlanta probably isn't number 4, and even if it was there would be several pages of discussion about "gaps" and other things. So instead, just enjoy it's beauty.

looks like the view you get from stone mountain!
too bad the picture makes the city look a bit flat, when actually it's pretty hilly.
