I'm not counting spurs and loops; if so, then Columbia has four, including I-126.

I'm going with Augusta and Savannah and that's only because they're in GA. I'm biased on this topic.

This all boils down to personal preference, but as a native SC'er, I'd have to go with the Columbia/Charleston combo, not just due to bias, but on a more objective level also. The SC combo consists of larger metros with larger economies and more things to do. Things are more or less equal between Savannah and Charleston, but Columbia being the state capital and home to the state's flagship university gives it an advantage over Augusta, which tips the balance in favor of Columbia/Charleston.

Here are a few more pics of Columbia:

IMO The Columbia skyline is so familure to the Winston-Salem skyline except not as tall and dense as Winston
Columbia

Winston Salem

Yeah, they are similar. Winston-Salem's is certainly taller, but most of the density of Columbia's skyline is found on the "backside" which isn't visible from the typical angles:

Metro Augusta probably has the most construction going on.

You say that because you're only familiar with the construction there. You don't know what construction looks like in the other cities, at least the SC cities.

I'm going with Augusta-Savannah. I saw too many rebel flags in Charleston. Race relations and diversity in Savannah is better. Also River Street and City Market at a great southern secret.

Duh, the rebel flag is a historic artifact particularly in Charleston because that's where the Civil War began.

Based on what? Honestly, neither city does particularly well in those areas, but the statistics show that Charleston is a bit more integrated than Savannah. Differences in diversity are so minute that they aren't even worth mentioning. Both cities overwhelmingly consist of Whites and Blacks.

And this isn't a Charleston vs. Savannah thread; it's Charleston and Columbia vs. Savannah and Augusta. Like I said before, this pretty much comes down to personal preference, but looking at it objectively, Charleston and Columbia outperform Augusta and Savannah in several important categories: population and population growth, metro GDP and GDP growth, educated population, personal income, etc.

^^
Based on my experience.... I was in Charleston for a week and came across too many people that had too much to say. I've been in Savannah for a year and haven't experienced anything. I probably shouldn't base by opinion for the whole city based on a few doo-doo heads, but the rebel flags already put me on edge. I'm not gonna argue with the facts both cities aren't as diverse as larger metros although I found Charleston was more overwhelmingly white. But in all fairness both cities are charming and most of the people are kind and hospitable.

Also as far as economies you may be right Charleston-Columbia are doing better, but Savannah and Augusta's poximity to Atlanta is changing all that. Already Savannah's port has leapfrogged Charleston's port. The main problem with Savannah is education. They have to keep those kids in school...
