Interesting sidenote about Millenium Tower. The reason why this vantage point of the tower is so good is because the plot of land in front of it is going to be the site of a 1,000-ft tall Transbay Tower.

Also, remember that One Rincon hill looks more like 762' in relation to the surrounding skyline, seeing as it's on a 120' hill.

And as far as the Transbay tower, i hear it's going to be a minimum of 950' tall to the roof, with an additional 200 foot crown (which will possibly incorporate a wind turbine into it's design, to power the crown's lights). Looks like the west coast will be getting a new tallest. There are going to be several more 700-850' towers as part of the Transbay redevelopment project too. Sounds good

Alas, the score reflects reality.
Why do people on C-D always say "OPPRESSIVELY" hot, as if EVERYONE can't stand warmer weather. But NO ONE ever says BITTERLY cold, as if everyone is just dandy with FREEZING COLD temperatures? You'll always here Dallas or (insert Sunbelt city) is OPPRESSIVELY hot, but you'll never here the same vice versa for colder climate cities. Interesting.

They still move there though. Why don't they just move to the cheaper parts of Cali, like the interior areas, that seem to be waaay cheaper then places like SF, but still in good proximity? I think they move to places like Dallas more then just because of housing cost.

Interesting analogy.

I think there is a double standard for "high rises" and "density". All these people defending SF with it's high rises and density, Where are you guys when there is a thread about Miami's skyline vs so and so skyline? Double standard perhaps? I've seen Miami get criticized so many times for it's density of high rises, but SF gets a pass? SF does have an impressive skyline, but it's a double standard. Maybe I'm just over exaggerating?

I have a friend who grew up in Dallas (but went to college in the North East and her family also has a home in Mackinaw). She has lived in SF for a decade or so and thinks it's too cold.
