Sorry to the Dallas folks, but the problem with Dallas is Dallas. Other than steel and glass, there's nothing else there. The topography sucks. The weather is oppressively hot in the summer. It's a God forsaken dustbowl. Deep Elum is cool though.

The only reason they move is because of cost of living. People don't move to Dallas for culture, architecture, amenities, etc,.... they move there because it's dirt cheap.

As I stated before people vote with there feet and Dallas is winning. You have to very ignorant to think Dallas offers nothing but is the fastest growing metro in the country. Billionaires could live anywhere in the country but yet a big chunk of them choose Dallas to live in. I wonder why?

They don't choose to live in Dallas, they live where they are established/made their billions.
And the people contributing to Dallas' fast growth are voting with their empty wallets...not necessarily their feet. Cheap cost of living and low taxes. Middle-Americans don't really care about culture, amenities, architecture, topography or whatever - they want low-taxes and cheap property so Dallas gains.

hmmm...i dont think Billionaires are relevant. I mean look at Omaha,NE. Just because Warren Buffet lives there doesnt mean its a world-class city with tons of amenities. Now, i know comparing Dallas to Omaha is a big stretch , but Omaha has the same billionaires per 1 million people as Dallas(7.4) Omaha having 3 billionaires is extraordinary given its size AND location.
But, yeah, Dallas does have a LOT of billionaires for a city of that reputation. But that doesnt mean that its a good city by anyones standards. Props to Dallas anyway...
Also, look at Ft. Worth, it has 1 more billionaire residing there than Houston with 7. Does that mean Ft. Worth is better than Houston? It doesnt add to city comparisons, much.

They settle for what's available. People don't go there and say "How beautiful". In SF, that's exactly what people say.
