I don't know about everyone else, but the best city for Christmas is where ever your family is at

For me, I've spent christmas in the following cities:

Tokyo: Just another day.

Manila: Quite unlike the subdued "spend time with the fam" version of Christmas Americans have. There were fireworks and fiestas in the streets and the decorations, music, and festivities began in October. It was kind of like the fourth of July. LOL

New York City: Ok. Since my extended family was there and we stayed at my grandmother's house. Outside, it was just dead. In Queens at least. Manhattan is a different story, but it's all touristy.

Atlanta: For me, no place is better. Thanksgiving style dinner on Christmas day is the norm, and it's usually the time of year when I get to see all my old neighborhood friends all at once.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Ratings Highest In Years

What else gets that amount of viewers? LOL. The New York jealousy is really getting old. Nobody does the holidays like New York.
Please show me somewhere that says over 50% of the world prefer NYC for Christmas.

As far as jealousy, I don't think I would have left NYC if I was that jealous.

Go to nyc and experience it, then tell me if you think miami is better.

I have never understood peoples obsession with hot weather.
What do they do up there? What's so great?

It is pretty obvious. Do you live in a bubble?

Starting from thanksgiving, look at where all of the parades on tv take place.

Where does the Xmas tree lighting take place that was just on NBC live?

It is amazing to me, people will go to any length or bring up anything they can just to try to get one up. It's all jealousy, they want to be #1

Are you serious?

You are the perfect example of what cracks me up on this site. People sit back and make nasty post towards nyc and other cities, but yet they have never been.

About half of the people in this thread picked NYC to have the best Xmas.

Stretch and try a little harder to bash NYC. Keep stretching.
Another poster with limited reading comprehension.

Where did I ever say I hated NYC?

In fact I think I mentioned earlier in the thread that NYC may be the best for some but it is not for everyone.

I will admit that there was NO REASON for him to post a rap song, but he is defending his city from you bashing it.

You were bashing it, so he was defending it the best way he knew how.

Don't bash a city, if you don't want their posters to defend it.
