Best city for Christmas? (live, state, Boston, south) - City vs. City - Page 10 - City-Data Forum

I don't know about everyone else, but the best city for Christmas is where ever your family is at

For me, I've spent christmas in the following cities:

Tokyo: Just another day.

Manila: Quite unlike the subdued "spend time with the fam" version of Christmas Americans have. There were fireworks and fiestas in the streets and the decorations, music, and festivities began in October. It was kind of like the fourth of July. LOL

New York City: Ok. Since my extended family was there and we stayed at my grandmother's house. Outside, it was just dead. In Queens at least. Manhattan is a different story, but it's all touristy.

Atlanta: For me, no place is better. Thanksgiving style dinner on Christmas day is the norm, and it's usually the time of year when I get to see all my old neighborhood friends all at once.

What else gets that amount of viewers? LOL. The New York jealousy is really getting old. Nobody does the holidays like New York.

Please show me somewhere that says over 50% of the world prefer NYC for Christmas.

As far as jealousy, I don't think I would have left NYC if I was that jealous.

Starting from thanksgiving, look at where all of the parades on tv take place.

Where does the Xmas tree lighting take place that was just on NBC live?

It is amazing to me, people will go to any length or bring up anything they can just to try to get one up. It's all jealousy, they want to be #1

Where did I ever say I hated NYC?

In fact I think I mentioned earlier in the thread that NYC may be the best for some but it is not for everyone.

I was simply ASKING A QUESTION. What is negative about my post. What happens up there? Post pictures, you tube vids, SOMETHING!! Explain to me events that happen up there.
