Aight ima say it.lol. Can someone please explain to me how London is competition for New York.
I've heard they have some similarities but they still have a ton of differences, I've never been to London so I can't make an accurate judgement.
NYC may possibly be the best city in the world but that doesn't mean everyone wants to reside there (like some people think).
The question is too vague, I could choose what city I'd prefer to live in (that would be the best to me) or what city I feel is the best (the best in what category?).

Yes, there was a lot of buzz about Krakow last time I was in eastern Europe...I kept hearing about the 'Polish Renaissance' and the flourishing arts community there. I've heard that Krakow has retained more of its' historic structures than has Warsaw, which is probably one reason that tourists are more drawn to the former.
Anyway, I so envy your trip and can't wait to hear your impressions.

Yeah, I read that 90% of Warsaw was destroyed in the war, but nearly all of Krakow was saved. I'll be posting pictures and probably writing a blog when I get back.
Aight ima say it.lol. Can someone please explain to me how London is competition for New York.
For history, culture, museums, first class urban parks, even the London Theatre District which is often compared to Broadway.
Now London does not have New York's skyline and London's physical setting is less interesting to me. New York for instance is on the ocean and is surrounded by bays, harbors and rivers, while London is on a river. London has no Hudson Highlands, Long Island or Jersey beaches nearby.
However, London is certainly more colorful, with the monarchy, historical pagentry and traditions that no North American city can match.
So I can see someone can make the argument that London is a better city. I myself, more or less consider them equal, but for different things.
New York, without a doubt, cultural center of the universe. For it's size, it's very clean (environmentally) and safe. L.A., dirty, crime-riden, and stuck out in the desert, did I mention dirty? I like breathing clean air, and drinking water without traces of rocket fuel, as goes for Las Vegas as well.
Cultural center of the NYC metropolitan area universe?
I think NYC's importance is vastly overstated by some people on this board. It is one of many big cities, and even if it is first among cities overall, it will still be a drop in the overall global bucket.
