I do agree that as a college student / recent graduate a 2 AM last call would be a bit of a bummer - but isn't that is what house parties are for? After the bars?
I don't know, I thought purpose of late night house parties was to get drunk and...

A ton of the bars in Portland have been infiltrated by hipsters, but a suprisingly large number remain relativley untouched neighborhood haunts.
I don't get the dive bar obsession, they usually have crap beer on tap or dollar pbr/keystone/old style, dark dingy, rude bartenders, often no windows, no kitchen maybe some cheap nasty peanuts or trays of snacks, maybe a few drifters hanging out with a knife, smells like urine, some pool tables nobody keeps up with crappy sticks, maybe a smelly homeless person it takes 3 hours for them to finally leave until they cause a scene, the other half of the clientele are true alcoholic/wino types. Why is that cool? I mean I have been to these type places with people and just felt a little bit, hmmm out of place, guess I'm not hardcore enough. Give me a nice bar serving microbrews, some type of gastropub, etc in Portland OR Chicago any day.

LA just announced today that they are extending Metro Rail hours to 2 AM on Friday and Saturday night - many bus lines already run 24/7 every night... This won't help w/ the complaints about a 2 AM last call, but improves some complaints about LA's nightlife. Also, because the Orange Line is basically and extension of the Red Line, it will run till 2:40 to accommodate those 2 AM Red Line riders. I'm pretty sure it opens back up at 4 AM (3:45 AM)- it's practically a 24/7 BRT (on the weekend) in the San Fernando Valley of all places

Metro to run all trains and Orange Line busway until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights!!! | The Source

I highly doubt judging by your grammar skills (or lack thereof) that you have ever "partied with the stars", smoked weed or drank liquor with them, especially as a reason to live in LA.

What is it with people and their desire to be partying amongst celebrities?

Is that even practical whatsoever?

Is it just knowing that these famous people live in the area even if youve hardly seen them out that adds a "coolness" factor?
