well...................... There are not playing in NY ever; or at least for a long, long, long, long, long, long time my provincial friend (after the deal they signed with this new stadium in NJ).
It looks like everyone is just going to have to get used to being neighbors (what a novel concept for NY).
Sorry!

Please tell me we aren't seriously debating this??? Each event was horrible and neither one is less relevant than the other. 1000+ people being killed is nothing to shove to the side as if it's nothing.
Tell me how well it goes for you when NYC is flooded, loss of electricity, dead bodies floating around while enduring hot humid weather for days.

O..k.. Try riding around and seeing entire sections of your city gone. Months without electricity. 90% of the population's life as they knew it ended overnight. Sitting hungry for days on roof-tops or in water with the stench of death in the air and bodies floating around. Soldiers everwhere with guns, but not to protect you. They just point their rifles at you, herd you up like cattle, and shoot when you move. Children and old women lying dead on bridges.
To bounce back from that in 5 years at the rate that we have...
ARE YOU FOR REAL?
Big ups to the City of Houston.

I have to say pictures and video don't do justice to how devastating Katrina was to New Orleans. I went to help with some of the reconstruction efforts 10 MONTHS after the hurricane and the neighborhoods we worked in where still in disarray. I'm glad to see the city is getting back on it's feet. Truly one of America's great cities.

It was tough I bet but New York toughness has been proved in how fast city got back to normal, how fast NYSE was back in operation, how fast the city recovered. New York City took the blow and bounced back and now looks better than ever before. That's tough enough for me. Now, what does Katrina or NOLA has to do with LA vs. new York dispute?

It was an example; NYers use everything bad thats happened to them as an excuse to be tough. You don't see people from the NO going around bragging about being tough; they are just thankful to still be alive.

You bet it was tough, huh?? It's not even a point to argue, the obvious is self-explanatory
I don't know how the thread jumped to this. I wouldn't have even posted in this thread had I not seen your comment.
I know that's real Jluke.

I guess New Yorkers are intimidated because Los Angeles has a reputation for gangs. As a native Californian, I admit that I'm quite intimidated with Easterners moving here to LA.

Nobody is intimidated by anything. New York is 2 times bigger than LA. How can you be intimidated by LA? Give it a break.

I'm not scared of LA. I'm worried that Easterners will come to LA and make it similar to NYC.
