I'm not comparing it to Atl. I am saying in general its not flat. Dallas off I20 is very hilly and anything but flat. I am not sure where people got the notion DFW was flat as a pancake that is a fib.
Because it's in Texas?
DFW is anything but flat. You have some flat cities (Plano), but the hills start right back up again once you head north into Allen/McKinney. Fort Worth and areas along I-20 have the most hills in the area.
And you'd think you were in the middle of Atlanta if you were driving through North Oak Cliff. Very hilly.

Well I wasn't really calling the DFW area flat. Driving through the Cedar Hill is like driving through Austin.
I live in fort worth and East Fort Worth is not flat and the vast majority of Tarrant and Dallas county is not flat. That notion has been way overexaggerated on this blog.
Its not Flat at all its Just not As hilly as Atlanta. Thats why people say its flatter than Atlanta... Atlanta sits in the Foothills of the APP mountains so there are alot of huge hills around here. The Mountains are not far from the city.. The whole city Of Atlanta is Hilly hardly any Flat areas.
Dallas has a rolling topography not flat. There are cities that are "flat" like Houston, Miami, Tampa, Chicago to name some right off the top of my head. Atlantas hills and greenery are very pretty but cause the city to not be laid out in a functional manner for a major city which is a big reason for a lot of the traffic issues in the area.
still not, Atlanta is a Piedmont city. Birmingham and Charlotte are compatible

compare to North Georgia, North Texas is flat, again someone is blaming the hillas and greenery of Atlanta as if they have an effect on the growth, NO. In North Texas, in the DFW metroplex there are open flat grass fields between development, like Atlanta does with greenery and hills.
