In an Atlanta vs. Houston or a Dallas vs. Houston thread, its a contest to see how fast you can decimated the other city.
I think its because ATL and HOU have more similarities than ATL and DAL has, or maybe its because ATL and HOU have more differences than ATL and DAL.

It's one of the two.

Integration is a very interesting topic. I won't go into it because it will get this thread way off topic. But do your research and look at what happend to several Black Institutions once integration started. Casein point, Tuskeegee University (then it was Tuskeegee Institute).

I think it would have to be that Atlanta and Houston are more different. However, I think the biggest debate between the two that I have seen on CD is the old "which city is more important?". Dallas supporters dont really argue about if their city is more important, just if their city is more desirable.

I voted Dallas. I partially feel bad because I am a Charlotte native. But I feel that Dallas might be slower pace than Atlanta and less flashy. Dallas has a huge economy and is growing rapidly. However, for my education Atlanta would probably be the best fit as I would like to be a professor relating to African/African descedant scholarship. Atlanta has CAU, Morehouse, Spelman, Morris Brown(we still love you), ITC, and I'm missing one somewhere... what else needs to be said? But either one is great choice.

I wish more African Americans would see that there are advantages with living in Dallas. We could use more black profesional in DFW. Considering that Dallas economy is one of the most stable economies in the country more African Americans should be flocking to DFW. Its already has a strong established black middle class. It bug me that more African Americans are not taking advantage of the 4th largest metro area in the country.

I may take a trip to Dallas, to check it out! I have always been very curious about that area. I've heard nothing but great things about the Dallas area in general...

Let's just say that I disagree and I'll leave it at that. As a matter of fact, in some ways, it messed us up more than anything.

Not to be assumptive, but The friends you have in the DC area that aren't having problems are either
1) Black friends who would prefer to stick to their own race (which they have all rights to)
2) Friends who have social connections here before coming to DC
3) Friends who were lucky enough to run into down-to-earth young people in DC, which almost anyone can tell you are few and far between
4) Friends who relocated to a place outside of the district where there is more racial integration, (but where traffic and COL is horrendous)
Most of my friends fall under #2, and the vast majority have post-graduate degrees also.
