The funny thing is the districts last call is the same as Philly's if im not mistaken, with the exception of the weekends. But if that's his/her only argument..then..

If staying out past 2am is your thing than a quick google search will find hundreds of places open after 2am in Philly. I know most people on this forum don't know how to google anything.
Some after hours bars are open until 4, some until 5 or 6
After Hours Bars,Clubs Open 2am 6am Philadelphia | Metromix Philadelphia
Philadelphia, PA After Hours on Citysearch
Philadelphia After Hours
After hours clubs Philadelphia
Again, if you're out drinking until 4 or 5 in the morning every weekend, you need to rethink your life.

I am with you on this 100 percent. There certainly are a few times in my life which I wished the bars would stay open later, though I was pretty grateful that I just went home when I wake up at 10 with only a mildly-terrible hangover.

If I was just looking at economic factors, I would pick DC, hands down. The job market is just too strong and robust here (relative to the rest of the country). But I always loved Philly and if I got offered an above decent job, I would head there. You get more bang for your buck in Philly, as the cost of living is considerably lower than DC's. I love the food, history, diversity and culture of Philly. DC is flooded with too many out of towners, bent on forcing long time residents to conform to their norms/standards. Boston seems cool, but it's just too far from the rest of the northeast metropolis (nyc, nj, philly, de bmore, dc) and way too damn cold.

I agree 100%
DC has no answer for Atlantic City and nothing that even comes close to comparing. AC is arguably the second best nightlife destination in the country after Las Vegas.

I agree with your first statement, but have to go the other way on the second. AC is nice but you can have just as a good time in NYC or LA (where there are more clubs, bars, lounges, and venues). But I think AC would be top 5 in nightlife.

Atlantic City? Best nightlife? I may have missed something. When I went I was not impressed. It seemed a little run down and a touch hood. Yet I see they're trying to improve their image. Was impressed with all the signs for shows. It's a 24/7 city but I didn't find the bars to be of high quality.

agree with most of this sentiment (esp AC run down and a touch hood) though the higher end casinos offer some higher end nightlife. Not my thing (nightclubs) but the Borgata (enjoy the vibe and restaurants and even craps) for example could be plopped in the middle of the Vegas Strip and would be one of the better casinos and even nightlife spots even in LV. If you dont know where to look in AC it would seem awful though in many ways
I dont think it has the best nightlife but in terms of clubs at this point there are only a few with better honestly.
I personally would prefer Philly or DC (even Boston on the whole but tom nightlife in Boston is a tad disapointing for a city of its staure, but do like some of the bars there)

AC better than NYC? Hmmm no. Philly's nightlife is not on DC's level. DC has too many posh spots offering VIP, bottle service, private dining, etc... Philly has better neighborhood bars.
