WOW EEK REMINDED ME. For all these 50 or so pages i completely forgot that the boroughs are hubs and incubators for cultures overseas aswell

The bronx- Is a big deal to alot of latin culture. Salsa developed here. Mambo started here. Spanish doo wop etc
Arthur ave is probably the most official italian neighborhood inthe states

Brooklyn- BIG BIG time in west indian culture, jamaican culture etc.

Queens-speaks for itself

Staten island,bronx-arthur ave,brooklyn- Italian culture

On top of other forms of pop culture.A jamaican reggae artist can blow up in jamaica just off the strength of being big in brooklyn vice versa.

A puerto rican reggaeton artist can blow up in the bronx and be big in puerto rico just off the stength

Ok, but the reason why I asked why you chose his comment as arrogant is because the arrogance of NYers shined bright in a lot of the thread before any type of over the top arrogance came into play with a NJian. Prior to that comment, it was NJians being pride and defensive while NYers.. well, look at the topic description.

And come on, he obviously brought up all the NJ victories against NY because NYers on here were thinking to good of themselves as if NJians are mere pesents. That my dear is arrogance.

I agree

You guys up there in New Jersey have made me want to spend my time visiting North Jersey much more when I visit next. Mnahatan is cool to visit as well, but after this thread I have no desire to visit the outer boroughs and Long Island.

New Jersey is much better

No offense but it seems as if you're just a NYC hater, it seems like everything about NY is a negative. I'm surprised someone would actually base their opinion of a place based on a couple of diehard NYC clowns that are just toying with people on a forum. I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion at all, as a New Yorker and a New Jersyan I think this whole thing is funny.

No, I like Manhattan alot but dislike the other boroughs and Long Island. Even before this site, I never really cared for those places

Personally, I would just about KILL to live anywhere (well, maybe not Elizabeth) in NJ rather than anywhere in Florida. Native New Yorker. There are far worse states in this country than New Jersey.

I noticed something... The only people posting here are either from NY or NJ (for the most part anyway)
Basically nobody else cares.

This shows how dumb it is to bash your own metro. NJ just happens to be a separate state in the metro area (which is unique), so it develops some kind of outsider hatred because of NJ having it's own identity. I'm sure if it was a part of NY state, none of this nonsense would of ever started.

None of those counties are as influential to their respective cultures as the boroughs are. This is something that i should have brought up earlier and it completely trumps new jersey.

The only thing that can compare is the west coast and miami. Not new jersey. NYCs boroughs serve as a great cultural hot spot for all the world cultures ive mentioned. Jersey absolutely does not have anything like queens in your state

And yes mambo did start in the bronx, check it
"Excellent documentary titled "Mambo To Hip-Hop", directed by Henry Chalfant. Explores the powerful sub-cultures of the South Bronx which gave rise to Mambo and Hip-Hop. "
