I grew up in San Jose.

East Oakland is very ghetto.

That's why I always think that Philly, Baltimore and Camden look much worse. This right here is a VERY GOOD example of what a ghetto looks like and is visually much worse than most of those others (although some of the BK ones look pretty bad like East NY and Bed-Stuy.) But yours has that more desolate look too it that I would definitely be uncomfortable in. No wonder you want out lol!
I fully agree, its like they still have their reputation from 10-20 years ago which doesn't hold much weight anymore, like Queensbridge isn't scary to me, it never really was (except the small elevators), I've stayed there before. Harlem, Soundview, Castle Hill, etc. doesn't look bad to me but looks can be deceiving.

I definitely cosign East New York, Brownsville, South Jamaica, Far Rockaway, & The South Bronx (Parts) as among NYC's worst. South Jamaica is definitely the most suburban of all of them but its still dirty with vacant fields filled with junk & abandoned houses, not all of it looks bad but a lot of it is.

Now you see why I can't wait to move lol.

To me this topic pretty much means: most decayed, gang graffiti, obvious low income housing, etc.

From what I've seen: Camden, STL (mainly North)/ESTL, Detroit, Cleveland, Youngstown, Gary, Baltimore, Philly(especially North, and west)/Camden.

Cleveland: google maps street view links I posted on another thread:
