I've heard of people killed by mistaken identity before, but a 13 yr old kid being killed in that manner is unheard of. Anyone kow if he looked much older than 13 as that's the only thing I could think of as to why someone that young would be targeted by mistake.

Orange county Florida (population 1,100,000 which includes Orlando) is at 44 murders as of now (7/31).

Only 10 of those happened in the city limits.

I'm not sure what the total is for the whole metro (over 2 million), I know it's not that much higher though, Im assuming 50 or so.

Considering the gazillion tourists in Orange County every year, that's actually a pretty low rate IMO. When you are considering tourist areas, it's important to keep it relative. For instance, Miami Beach only has 88,000 people but there up to a quarter million people in south beach at any given time. Alas, crime stats are set against only those who call Miami Beach their full time residence.

Cops recover $1M in cash, 26 kilos of cocaine - Chicago Breaking News (http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2010/07/cops-recover-1m-in-cash-26-kilos-of-cocaine.html - broken link)

^^^How did i miss this story last week? Even though this drug bust seems big like just 3 weeks ago CPD made another BIG drug bust, they seized $5 million dollars in cash and 10 kilos of heroin in a northside apartment worth a street value of $1.5 million dollars,Latin Kings and a Mexican Drug Cartel were involed in the heroin bust, idk who was involved this time.
