I thought this would be an interesting running thread so people could post updates on totals for cities or metros for the rest of the year.

Ciudad Juarez reported 17 murders yesterday and that brings up their total for the year so far up to 78 murders.

I'm not sure about Fresno, but I think we have at least one for the year so far.

Atlanta has 2 so far that I know about (in the city). I'm not even sure about the second one since they haven't determined the cause of death yet. The metro area has a lot more though, not sure the exact number. Let's hope the 2010 numbers will be even lower than 2009.

It's funny how my cousins in Miami claim Miami is more dangerous then West Palm Beach. West Palm Beach,(which has a WAY smaller population then Miami), also has 3 homicides so far this year.

There were 20 homicides in Tijuana between this past Monday and Thursday (01/04-01/07), including 4 teenagers who were caught in crossfire.

I will try to get current figures for the year for Tijuana.

I was able to locate statistics for Tijuana. As of Friday, 01/08, there have been 39 murders in Tijuana so far for the year.
