So what? Miami isn't part of a larger CSA, not every city is. Why should that be held against DC?

^^ 40 miles, I read it... throw in the terrible traffic it would probably take someone about an hour or more to get there, and this is being generous with the traffic.

That's not true, either. Although we have far less than Florida, we still get them. Isabel ripped the area right apart. We also had a massive tornado here last year which ripped a part of a city to pieces. We also get snow which makes for many accidents because the residents aren't used to it.

Although our extreme weather isn't all that extreme when you compare it to other areas, because the area is so ill prepared and equipped to deal with any of it, the situation is always magnified.

It's not held against anyone...wow, you're really trying to derail this thread huh? Go ahead, I won't continue a pointless argument over something I'm not all that interested in.

To answer the OP, it's a draw for me. I've never been to either, but I can somewhat imagine what Tampa is like. I wouldn't necessarily love Tampa, but I would be content there for a little while. With that said i would be willing to give Norfolk a try.

If traffic is bad enough on I-95, it can take as long to get to DC from Hampton Roads as it does to get from Tampa to Miami. I don't care what day of the week it is or the time of day, I almost always get stuck on that stretch of 95 between Woodbridge and Springfield and over the Woodrow Wilson Bridge to MD. Add that to the traffic and congestion on the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel and it can take awhile to get from Point A to Point B.

Tampa is much larger...close to 3 million people in the MSA. There is probably more culture, diversity, etc there.
