Okay so I was thinking about comparing Phoenix to Los Angeles. Which of these two cities has the better weather? Which of these do you feel is in a better geographical location? Which city has better Mexican food as well as better scenery? Los Angeles has a Mediterranean climate while Phoenix has a dry desert climate with less rain. I don't mind the desert and I actually am intrigued by it. So which of these two cities do you feel is better in all the categories listed?

Los Angeles on all four - more moderate weather, closer to places like San Diego and the mountains and skiing, better (or at least equal) Mexican food, especially due to the taco vans that patrol the area, and better scenery due to the ocean.

That all said, Los Angeles is unlivable. Sprawl in every direction, endless traffic, earthquakes, located in a state that's going bankrupt, and unbelievably expensive. So considerably cheaper Phoenix - with only slightly worse weather, slightly worse location, slightly less Mexican food, and no ocean but pretty desert looks very attractive by comparison.

Everything you said about LA is true...

But LA has pockets of urbanity that Phoenix completely lacks. Not to mention the cultural amenities in LA far surpass Phoenix. LA has unique colorful neighborhoods unlike anything in Phoenix. And theres a strong Beach culture in LA...

LA easily. Phoenix is like a junior LA... Actually not a junior LA, more like an overgrown San Fernando Valley.

Pretty hard for Phoenix to compete with the Pacific Ocean. I mean c'mon.

I hate them both. I'm more of a small or mid-sized, midwest city person.

I guess we're just shouting irrelevant things out now for this thread? Let me try. Minnesota!

As for the topic, I'm going to have to say LA. Although I haven't tried any Mexican food in Phoenix. But I have yet to hear anyone say it even compares to LA in that regard, so I'm guessing LA would win there. Does Phoenix have really good Mexican food? I'm assuming there are plenty of parts of AZ that do, but I just haven't heard anything.
