What about the 30% of the population that is black? Are they racist?
I'm sure there are plenty of racists in Alabama...but keep in mind that this is 2009, not 1965. A lot has changed in the 45 years since the church bombing - so give Alabama a break.

Okay...I thought Atlantic City was in New Jersey. It was the last time I was there.
As far as poverty...New Jersey has the 2nd highest per-capita income and the highest median income in the nation, so it can't be all that poor of a state. Nine of the states counties are among the 100 wealthiest in the U.S.
