Will Washington,Baltimore, and Philadelphia metropolitans join up??? (better, cons, size)

Will Washington,Baltimore, and Philadelphia metropolitans join up??? If you haven't noticed Maryland is already part of the Philly metro and it's growing rapidly between Baltimore and Philadelphia. So will they over grow together, that would be a super metropolitan area with over 14 million residents because it's already at 13,863,718!!!! Maryland needs to get on the ball and build another minor league city (like Silver Spring or Bethesda) between B-more and Philadelphia maybe in Cecil County or something!!! So what do you think????

They can overlap until you have nonstop development and constant density between Philly and DC but until 15% of Philly Residents work in DC or Baltimore or vice versa its never going to happen. Id be shocked if at this point it were even 1%.
Philadelphia, Baltimore and DC are too strong as independent job centers for the need for consolidation to even be considered.
Actually Philadelphia metro is closer to merging with the New York/NJ metro. You drive past Delaware, it is very foresty for a while before the Baltimore's outer suburbs start picking up. But thats not really the case with New York. Drive up I-95 from Philly to NY....they feel more "connected" because the divided line isnt as prominent as it is between Philly and Bmore

Look at it this way, Baltimore and New York are about the same distance from Philly...however, Baltimore is much smaller than New York in terms of size and sprawl. Therefore the New York/NJ's southermost suburbs extend closer to Philly's outer suburbs...in fact, the divided line isn't very clear. I mean I had been stuck in traffic on I-95 right BETWEEN NY and Philly.
Ive actually been stuck in nearly constant traffic from Richmond to Connecticut, some points were better than others though...
