Transient means not staying in one place for a long length of time.

Of course with the number of people that chose Florida as their new home over the last few decades there will be many that are not native born. That does not make one a transient.

A very large percentage of those born here stay here. Many more that were born elsewhere come here.

OK, for about the 10th time you have used that study. You have ignored the fact that that same study was off by 150,000 the year before.

Basing population counts on the number of electricity turn ons and turn offs is faulty in so many different ways. That is why they are always off by so much.

Keep trying though, maybe by the 20th time you reference that study it may finally sink in.

Besides the fact that you in no way showed what I said and you highlighted was wrong.

"66% of all moves by Floridians are out-of-state, more than any other state."

You think 1/3 is a large number of natives still in the state? It sounds like a very small portion to me.

This is interesting...Moderator cut: link removed, linking to competitors sites is not allowed

Natives (as a percentage):

Orlando - 34.0% (FL - 32.7%); US is 60%.
Ft Lauderdale - 30.5% (even less than Orlando - wow!)
Charlotte NC - 46.3% (NC - 63%)
Raleigh NC - 47.9%
Phoenix - 34.6% (AZ - 34.7%)
Atlanta GA - 58.5% (GA - 57.8%)

I've been looking over this website and havent found a state with less native-born residents still living in the state than FL.

1/3 is not the number of natives still in the state.
The number of native born that still live here is close to 80%

When a state increases in population from 12 million to over 18 million in 20 years it stands to reason that there is going to be a large amount of the population that is not native.

If 100 people live in a city they were born in and don't move and another 100 move there that would mean only 50% of the population is native born.
It doesn't mean the native population is moving away in droves.

The Pews report shows Florida is a magnet state drawing people in but is also a sticky state keeping it native born here.

FL: 32.7% of it's residents were born IN Florida. That's a far cry from 80%. It's all right there man. Moderator cut: link removed, linking to competitors sites is not allowed

I can almost guarantee you that there isnt one state in the country where 80% of it's residents were born in that very state. Much less FL.

Even CA has over 50% of it's natives still living in the state.

Because we had millions of people coming here from other states but those that were born here tend to stay here.

You are confusing two different stats.
