But, the corporate beer recipes suck, and the whole idea of a national-chain brewpub just strikes me as a violation of the whole brewpub ethos. So I rarely find myself at RB when there are better options around.

As for the Old Chicago chain... if there were any justice in the world every single one of 'em would burn to the ground overnight tonight.
Yes I have been to River North location more than once, Old Chicago... one time and done forever. I could certainly think of worse places than Rock Bottom but it is better than others.
Rock Bottom is one of those places that nobody really LOVES, but most people could agree on to go there for drinks and central location and has a lot of space. I think that is why it works.

I was on the south side years ago in Hometown for some event, and this old irish guy (not irishtom) had ordered some pizza. Didn't look that great... but oh my, it was very good... Whatever they are doing down there, I approve. I think the pizza came from Beverly though.

Might've been Fox's pizza. And yes, it is delicious, even if it doesn't look very appetizing.

They also have a Giordano's there now, if it was more recent. Or maybe Nancy's pizza, but I rank Nancy's a rung higher than St. Louis style pizza, which isnt' saying much.

But even more infuriating is the old chicago chain based out of..... denver. The same parent company is also responsible for the proliferation of the aptly-named rock bottom brewpub chain. that whole company needs to be punched in the throat.

I don't see why Chicagoans should have to apologize for deep dish and stuffed pizza, saying only tourists eat it. The stuff makes a dynamite dinner.
I'm not saying Chicagoans need to apologize for anything, or that NO ONE eats deep dish. Just meant that a pretty large majority of people I've seen who live in Chicago order thin crust pizza.

I've heard people comment that since it's "Chicago" style pizza, then that must be all anyone ever eats here.

Both are awesome.

Now, everybody shut and get along. Stop wagging weenies and go pick up a pizza.

I do like crust pieces more, but the inner squares always seem to have more toppings.
