Yes the homes in Laughlin Ranch ARE overpriced.
Also Laughlin Ranch is in Bankruptcy and has lost their Contractors Licence because of too many complaints. However, there are homebuilders here that have been here for over 15 years with excellent custom homes with no complaints. Quality Homes. Built from hardworking American citizens. Excellent low prices. Here is one for example Brookfield Communities - Arizona's premier new home builder with developments near Laughlin and Sedona

I noticied that many of the apartment complexes in Bullhead City are Section 8, are all apartments in that area that way, our move to the area stalled for one year, now we are looking to make our move Sept 2011. We are torn between Bullhead City and Laughlin, but prefer not to live in a complex that offers Section 8 tenants. Any insight would help us out. We plan to rent for six months, research the areas before we buy anything.....Can't wait to move from Parma, Ohio!

I am contemplating a move to Laughlin. I figure not paying state income tax will amount to about $500.00 a month. I can get a much nicer house with that. Does anyoneone know if there might be a place with a couple of acres, 3 to 4 bedrooms, 3 baths for about $225,000. I plan to visit for a few days before actually deciding on a move.

Yes, it's hard to believe those who say there's nothing to do in Laughlin - as it makes me wonder what they like doing.

I too have lived in towns where there was no river or lakes nearby, no casinos (I care about them mostly for their entertainment and restaurants/buffets - not gambling,) few, if any, affordable golf courses, etc.

For me that's plenty to do - and not even taking into account Vegas 90 minutes away.

So although the summer heat does discourage me about the area, I will just plan to be far away as possible during as much of July and August as possible.

I would be interested in knowing what you mean about Laughlin's "deterioration" - and needing to "clean up it's act."

I have visited there briefly, and it looked pretty nice from what I saw - like a mini-Vegas.

Any further comments/info would be appreciated.

I was In Laughlin in March. I checked out both Crowne Point and The Vistas. We preferred the Vistas over Crown Point. If you are thinking of BHC at all, check out Stoneridge Apts.
