Maybe, if you're just talking Dallas.

But compare it to the entire Dallas FORT WORTH Metroplex.....

Phonix Metro

NFL: 1
NBA: 1
MLB: 1
NHL: 1
NASCAR track: YES
Division I NCAA: 0
Arena Football: 1
WNBA: 1
MLS: 0
Minor Leauge Hockey: 1
Minor Leauge Baseball: 11 Class R teams

Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex

NFL: 1
NBA: 1
MLB: 1
NHL: 1
NASCAR track: YES
Division I NCAA: 4
Arena Football: 1
WNBA: 0
MLS: 1
Minor Leauge Hockey: 2
Minor Leauge Baseball: 4 teams (2 in AA, 2 Single A Independants, with one possible team comming to Dallas)

In terms of numbers, yeah, it's pretty much the same. In tems of championships in the Big Four....

Cowboys > Cardinals
Mavericks = Suns
Rangers < Diamondbacks
Stars > Coyotes (I think you could also say that for support, but that's a different issue)

Please everyone, remember that DFW consists of both Dallas and Ft.Worth. Refrain from calling it the Dallas Metro or Dallas Area, or JJG will have another heart attack. The doctor has already said that one more time, and JJG might not make it. So, please remeber that its the Dallas-Ft.Worth Metropolitan Area! North Texas is also acceptable.

Thank You!

It's easier to type DFW, anyway. Do locals use this moniker outside the context of the airport?

All the time.

Either that or North Texas, The Metroplex..... or just the specific town we're talking about.
And I'll be alright, Southmore.

Yeah. For a second I forgot Tempe was in the area and I almost marked it.

Still doesn't change the fact that DFW has more D-I schools.... (TCU in Fort Worth, SMU in Dallas, UT-Arlington, and North Texas in Denton)
