I thought Miami and Florida in general had very good, smooth roads, especially compared to the awful roads in CA.

A foot of snow and your roads fell apart . Must not be built very well.

Before you say anything, yes I have lived in the Dallas area for several years. A foot of snow doesn't hold that much water, maybe the equivalent of 2" tops.

The roads can't take the Texas weather. One day it can be 60 degrees the next day it can be 30 degrees. This type of weather can wear down roads faster.

^^Except Chicago or Detroit.

The freeze-thaw cycle can be quite detrimental to road conditions.

Florida has some of the better roads, at least on their highway system. Local roads can very from city to city. Orlando had pretty good roads, but Tampa had pretty lousy ones.

Memphis and Nashville Tennessee and Maryland Suburbs of DC also have very good roads
