It will take only 3 days to go to California and only 2 days to El Paso from Atlanta. I have done both. Maybe 5 days for elderly people who can't drive about 700 miles a day.

Lol, alot of people don't wanna rush it too. For me the whole point is the journey along the way if I wanted to save time I'd just fly.

LOL! While I'm not elderly, I've only flown across - so I really have no idea how long it takes.

I personally would have to stop a lot along the way to see things/places. I would even be up for a cross-country Amtrak trip, with the kind of ticket that allows mutliple stopovers.

Yeah you guys are right about stopping and sightseeing. Personally I would do the same thing and take my time and enjoy the country. See my dad is a trucker so he's used to leaving Atlanta, GA and being in El Paso, TX in about 24 hours.
