I agree that Houston is underrated. There is so much to do there! I don't get why people think it's a big suburb. Not extremely dense, but it feels pretty urban.

Oklahoma City is probably the most bashed and stereotyped city over 1 million. Its one of the few cities that when its mentioned in City-Data its almost always negative. Cities like Little Rock and Wichita have similar perceptions.

I've said this before, but if Little Rock wasn't in Arkansas, it would definitely be a more popular city. It has the Ouachita mountains nearby, plenty of outdoor recreation, and is the only real left-leaning area in Arkansas.

OKC and Arkansas are not underrated, they offer nothing unique and deserve the negative attention.

You are right for the most part about OKC and Arkansas. All stereotypes have an element of truth to them.

However, many people on this site like cities with plenty of outdoor recreation nearby and natural scenery. I'm not talking about people who prefer NYC, Boston, Chicago, etc, but the kind of people who would be attracted to places like Boulder, Austin, Portland, etc. Little Rock has plenty of outdoor recreation as well as a degree of liberalism in comparison to its state, so if it wasn't for the Arkansas hillbilly stereotype, I'm sure Little Rock wouldn't be so hated.

I love outdoor activities. LA, Seattle, Denver and Miami are some of my favorite cities. These cities have outdoor activities and have urban amenities. The Arkansas hillbilly type is not a stereotype, but the truth.

For people into suburbs, nature, open space and things I would say Jacksonville is quite underrated. People bring up other cities in here up for it but Jacksonville hardly ever gets a mention for it from what I have seen. It's far as race goes it's actually more diverse than Atlanta.
