and by the way, houston is NOW and has ALWAYS been a southern city. it is in no way connected to...arizona and new mexico (?????). it's not really the southeast, but it's not the southwest either. it's south central.

houston and dallas' american sphere of influence includes the eastern half of texas, louisiana, oklahoma, arkansas, western tennessee, and western m'sippi

In these thread who is being bashed more ??

Atlanta draws the most attention and is the most bashed.
The other two cities barely get any recognition in City vs City, but if you want to pick it apart look at what cities bash what cities.
Atlanta is picked on by everyone -> Atlanta (maybe Phoenix and sometimes Dallas) Picks at Houston -> Houston goes back at all 3 -> cycle continues just throw Charlotte in a couple times for fun and a New Yorker.

Just wow...and I guess that because I am on neutral ground I can't truly understand why the "hatred".

Everyone has posted information for me to think on. The whole part concerning the geographical location of each city was a whole 'nother thread in itself!

With my impending trip to Houston matched against what I already know about Atlanta combined with the thoughts and opinions posted here, I'm sure that I will be able to make the best decision for not only myself but my little one as well.

Thanks so much.
I'm sorry if we have made you rethink either city.As for me,on on record that I like both cities very much.Houston definitely has things Atlanta just does not have or do as well and the same is true with Atlanta offering things Houston does not have or as well as Atlanta. At the end of the day listen to the people that provide you with the answers that correlate more closely to fact than just an opinion. As I stated much earlier in this thread,I will take Atlanta over Houston any day but in this economy Houston is just fairing better at the moment than most cities in the U.S.Why would I want another person moving here so they can get unemployment?lol

I know far more about Atlanta than Houston, but it was suggested that I check Texas out...so have it at...give me your thoughts .

Thanks in advance!
Traffic is getting really really bad in Houston!!

Chill out, no one here is denying that Houston is in the South. I think Afronega was saying that while both of them are southern, Atlanta is more connected to the East, while Houston's more connected to the west. California transplants seem to go to Texas, while Atlanta gets more transplants from New York, New Jersey, etc.

Also, as someone who used to live in Mississippi, the connections with Atlanta and Houston are both pretty strong.

Al Green, and that other dude aren't from Houston......

As far as the debate with Houston being southern or not. The only people wo really deny Houston as a southern city (On city data) are southerners because it's located in Texas. I've heard people many times on this forum say that.

This whole Atlanta vs. Houston thing esculates when Atliens try to play the victims and call Houstonians out, but in reality it goes both ways. The majority of the REAL Houstonians in this forum haven't said anything bad about ATL. However, once one person goes in on the ATL; ATliens group the Houstonians with everyone else.
