Near Fort Washington. I'm not too familiar with that region to the south of D.C., but I think it should be okay.

Charlotte definitely gets the nod on the first two without question while the last three overwhelmingly go to DC.

Tantallion and Sera Estates are affleunt neighborhoods in Fort Washington. Some of the homes are over a milli. The CIAA is a big deal in DC. Local (Grown & Sexy Go-Go) bands from DC play to standing room only crowds in Charlotte.

I look at NC'ers as distant cousins....I see NC plates all the time around "the way" ...almost as much as I see VA license plates....Alot of folks from the area move to NC too.....Yall keep us middle of the road...not too north and not too south

I would take Charlotte.

It's becoming a bigger city, where as DC is already a big city.

DC is become bigger too. I wouldn't be surprised if the region has a larger CSA than Chicago by the end of the decade.

I don't think that would be the case. Chicago's city is losing population due to suburban life, but it's CSA should still be intact, because it's growing. That too at a decent rate: 5.29% although that's still half of DC area's rate of growth, but the area would also have to pick up on it's economic activities to rival Chicago for it to build up a larger population.

DC's metropolitan area is expanding at a very fast rate though.

I live in Charlotte now...Was in DC last weekend....Charlotte winds hands down in affordability....DC wins in terms of jobs/diversity/things to do...Still would choose to live in charlotte though. DC was nice regardless.

DC. Charlotte is too far away from the places that interest me. Also, downtown Charlotte is really a couple of major streets running parallel.
