Agreed. Last time I was in Phoenix in summer it was 97 degrees at midnight. Bump that noise.

I suppose I'd take Minnesota cold, though I'd prefer those temperatures with Arizona dryness

Winter cold in Minnesota actually is very dry, particularly when cold fronts from the Arctic move in. It actually makes the cold a lot more tolerable than, say, the damp/humid cold you might feel on a cold day out east. I remember one week in February I spent in Manhattan a couple years ago that was more awful and bone-chilling than anything I've felt in Minneapolis.

There is no true humid cold anywhere East of the Rockies, because all the cold snaps are Arctic in origin.

Arizona heat for me. In the cold, my nose just runs like a faucet. Also, I hate shoveling snow, driving slow due to bad weather and keeping my Hellcat locked up all winter. Additionally, when it's hot in some locales in Arizona, you can drive a short distance to get much cooler temps....all of Minnesota is cold in the winter.

Not true. The Upper Midwest gets a lot of dry, Arctic air since it's at the center of the continent and far away from oceanic influence. There aren't any barriers to bitter Arctic cold and the jet stream usually dips down below this part of the country in winter months.

The Eastern states continue to get a lot of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico in the winter, and the Appalachians block a lot of Arctic cold fronts that affect areas to their west. Winters are usually very damp along the Eastern seaboard.

Ohhh god no! I’ve lived in both and those MN winters are brutal! I’d take 110 over -10 anyday I don’t have to shovel and salt my driveway in AZ.

Not sure about Arizona vs Minnesota.....but I would say that I prefer the Louisiana heat over the Maryland or West Virginia cold. In the hottest summer days here in Baton Rouge, I can still spend time outdoors and walk outdoors for 20 minutes or more. The same is not true for below 40 degree weather.
