Testing, testing! Stand outside bare naked in AZ when it's 115°F in summer. See how long before you get skin cancer!

You're throwing around the term "super power" quite loosely if you think either of those countries have a chance at becoming one.

Ever heard of a swimming pool and sunscreen?

This garbage couldn't and will never happen in cold climates. I've always said, cold keeps the garbage out.

Go watch Spike TV and turn on any of the damn shows that are "Craziest Situations" or "Biggest Idiots" or any COPS episode. It seems like 99% of them are from Vegas, Texas, Arizona, Florida or Memphis...
Lol that looks like an extra large neighborhood version of the Coliseum Mall in Jamaica, Queens (NYC), bummiest mall in the U.S.

I know, India and Brazil are great Nations, but not even on the same page... Actually, not even in the same book. Actually, not even in the same Library as the United States. The dispairity between Upper/Middle (lack there of)/Lower classes are huge, and those 'slums' you see in Brazil and India you would never see in the United States. At least we have Human Rights.

It all depends on what your accustomed to... I'm from Minnesota and I've been ice fishing on a lake outside when its been 15 below and also camping during single digits. the cold does not keep me from being outside. They are definitely livable temperatures as they provide a nice variation that never gets boring. Snowmobiling in the cold and ice fishing and boating, water skiing while dirt biking the summer. I always have been warm in winter by dressing warm, but when in hot environments there is only a few things I can take off.
As for the people here that say Arizona does have the mountains to go to when it is hot, you are right, but that is not where the major population centers are in the state where most people live. Finite water resources are a concern also and when aquifers run low we will see how many people the area can hold. The same can be said about agriculture in the great plains.

I think I would be very depressed living in an area that is cold and cloudy with nothing green growing outside. People in cold climates get clinically depressed [S.A.D.] and have to have sun lamps to get enough vitamin D. It just doesn't seem normal to be restricted indoors for months. At least a person in Arizona can go outside once the sun sets and swim all day and night during summer. Mini golf courses are lite up for night golf and people BBQ and enjoy being outside at night. In Minnesota days are colder than the night temps in Phoenix during winter. You really can't do anything comfortably outside day or night in an "ice box".

Oftentimes, you don't get a full view of all that green, with those nasty gnats, flies and mosquito's dancing in front of your eyes.

Speckled green. That's better!

Thank God the woodticks in MN don't have wings!
