Perhaps... I've heard before in school that the bay area is the most diverse region in the country though so

I agree with eek, the Tri-State area has the most overall ethnic diversity compared to the Bay Area which has racial diversity.

Since eek is doing a fine job posting NYC pics, how about some of the metropolitan's ethnic neighborhoods.

^in that sense somewhat... but latino in the bay area doesn't just mean mexican. There's quite a few El Salvadoreans and Nicaraguans in the bay... there's also some Brazilians but not as many. What I doubt there's too much of in NY at all is Pacific Islanders... there's a whole lot of pacific islanders in the bay

I was going to put the Phillipine Center as a picture but aren't Filipinos considered Asian? Not Pacific Islander.

I'll try something new... I'll split bay area cities into what races/ethnicites they represent.

San Francisco - all races with an emphasis on caucasians, latinos and asians
Oakland - all races
San Jose - Mostly Latino, Caucasian and Asian
Berkeley - all races
Hayward - all races with a slight emphasis on caucasians and latinos
Fremont - Caucasian & Asian. Has the highest concentration of Afghans in the country
San Mateo - Caucasian, Latino & Asian
Vallejo - all races
Mountain View - Caucasian, Latino & Asian
Redwood City - Caucasian & Latino
Pittsburg - all races

While there is a focus on caucasians, latinos and asians, you see them all across the bay area... it's almost impossible to find a region that's uniformly one culture. The closest to that in the entire bay area would be Marin County

that depends on the filipino...
some believe they are asian and others call themselves pacific islanders. IMO, and i'm not filipino, they are asians. yes they are from an island in the pacific but so is japan.
