.

You do realize that both the NYC Metro (NY/NJ/CT) and Philadelphia Metro(PA/NJ/DE) go by the Tri-State - Interestingly they are also the only Metros that contain areas in 3 states and only CSAs that both contain areas in 4 states

NYC (NY/NJ/CT/PA)
Philly (PA/NJ/DE/MD)

but I think people knew what you were asking

It would have been very strange is I was talking about the Philly metro the whole time, and people were talking about and posting stats and pictures of the NYC area...

But yes, they got what I meant, thankfully.

Is that some kind of excuse?
The diversity in the Tri-state's Hispanic/Latino population is simply more diverse than the bays Hispanic/Latino population.

15.7% Black Non-Hispanic
20.1% Hispanic
8.4% Asian
1.0% Two or More Races
US Census Diversity Index: .595

6. San Francisco CSA
46.2% White Non-Hispanic
6.4% Black Non-Hispanic
22.4% Hispanic
21.1% Asian
2.6% Two or more races
US Census Diversity Index: .687 (= {[.462*.462] + [.224*.224] + [.211*.211] + [.064*.064]+[.026*.026]} - 1.00)

cold hard facts... new yorkers just cant "imagine" another place could be more diverse so it must not be huh?

thats all i have read in this thread.

"but...but its NYC nothing beats NYC!" ...yea right the Bay Area owns in scenic/outdoor diversity as well...oh ya we have skyscrapers too and warmer weather in the Bay Area as a whole (do not single out SF on this one)

Yeah Chicagoland doesn't have four states but it's got three [IL,IN,WI]

Which I guess could use the title "Tri-State area" as well..

but...ppl from the bay area talk about having diversity and refer to asians/pacific islanders from "tiny little island countries that no one cares about..." so what is your point??

these "tiny little island countries that no one cares about" are indeed cared about and are a part of what makes up the u.s. and a part of what makes our cities so great, IMHO.

anyway, when ppl refer to the tristate area, 9/10 times they mean ny, nj, ct.
