Main thing I'm noticing here is that Nashville suffered twice as much as Orlando during the period... Reading C-D posts, one would think it would be the other way around...

It completely makes sense seeing the tech-heavy cities at the top and Vegas at the bottom, but beyond that it's hard to understand these results.

Phoenix being up there with the tech cities is interesting--compared to say DFW being negative--and pretty much every Florida city seems higher than you'd think it would be. I wonder if being lighter on covid restrictions was a big boost for some of the cities that couldn't easily transition to WFH? Perhaps retirement heavy places are also doing better, as retirees have fixed incomes generally? That might help explain Phoenix and Florida.

Looks like only a matter of time before the Bay area passes up LA in GDP.

Either Charlotte’s GDP growth or gdp growth rate seems off.

I can understand the correlation with tech cities, but everything else was pretty much told to pick a random number in 2020 given the unprecedent and unpredictable crash due to Covid-19.

If L.A. was given their CSA (which San Francisco was for some reason in this chart) it wouldn't really be close at all.

The figure I posted IS LA's CSA GDP.

Los Angeles-Long Beach CSA $1.250 Trillion
San Jose-San Francisco-Oakland CSA $1.101 Trillion

But I dont really think the Bay Area will surpass LA on account of the fact that LA is far larger and requires far less growth to have a larger GDP---also LA has been on a roll lately doing very well in tech and the like, which I think is great, so I expect LA to retain a larger GDP than the Bay Area, but who knows.
