Exactly, one one the most bland places I have ever been to. I have a niece who lives in Cary and cannot wait to get back to ATL, her husband is from there. Hence, why she lives there.

After having lived in both, there is no way Charlotte beats Houston. Also, you gotta move Austin up. 6th Street is one of the more unique party places in the country.
Atlanta is boring to me and so are the rest of these southern cities. Miami is an exciting city from what I've seen in pictures and on tv. I'm want to go to Miami for a visit. I want to go to the beach and sight see.

No...it's really not. Austin's party scene is HUGE, but it's not unique at all. It's VERY oriented to the 18-22 crowd (i.e. college crowd) and it's probably the least diverse place in Texas I saw when I was there.

Totally wrong, brother. Every city has its misconceptions, this is one of the big ones about Austin. 6th Street does have lots of UT students but plenty of other demographics too. West Sixth, Rainey Street and 2nd Street are other nightlife districts that definitely are mostly not college-aged kids. The notion that it's all just for college kids is outdated.
I'm not going to argue that Sixth Street has the best or most unique nightlife, but it does have 2 characteristics that are unique: the very heavy focus on live music, and the fact that the nightlife areas are very, very compact and close together, which makes for an interesting scene downtown.
