NYC doesn't have nearly as good Mexican food as Texas cities.
How is a Mexican making food in NYC any different than a Mexican making food in Texas? Mexican and Chinese food are probably the most authentic widespread ethnic foods in this country because most of them are made by new immigrants whereas Italian restaurants are run by Americans of mutt ancestry and are of no more Italian ancestry than Irish or German or something.
It would make sense if Texas had more authentic Mexican restaurants, having once been part of Mexico more or less, but I don't know if it does or doesn't. The Michelin Guide lists seven Mexican restaurants in NYC as notable.
Grimaldi's is overrated. I was much more impressed with Giordano's in Chicago, after equal amounts of hype prior to eating.
Don't get olives on your pizza @ grimaldi's, it is literally like eating a salt slice
I fully agree. The olives there are literally like a salt lick for a hamster. I don't know what they're thinking. IF I ever go there again - and that is a BIG IF - I won't get anything but cheese b/c the toppings there suck balls.
Now Lombardi's on the other hand does everything right IMO.
