Charlotte VS Houston:which would you rather live in and why?Are they very different or very similar. They are very large cities landwise. They both have new shiny light rail systems.Which rail is better?Which one is more fun or family friendly? What about schools?Poverty rates?Which do you prefer?Houston has the ocean.Charlotte has the mountains within 2hrs.Yall call it.
I"d go with Charlotte, closer to the mountains in addition to beaches, and also very importnatly the lack of hurricanes. Charlotte is also a smaller city so less traffic, crime, stress, etc. Houston is nice though.
I would pick Charlotte, although Houston is a tempting answer. Houston is by far the larger city and metro, and its in Texas so its business friendly atmosphere is definitely better than NC. The only thing Charlotte has over Houston is the fact that it is smaller, but is a close drive to several cities, most notably Atlanta. The LRT in Charlotte is new and very family oriented but it is relatively small. I think Houstons is longer so I give the nod to Houston on that.

Houston's may be bigger, but Charlotte's LRT system is a better set up.
I'm curious to this as well. Perhaps the user was going by the bigger is better philosophy that many people incorrectly follow.
Charlotte's LRT is certainly effective on a national level and is ~2 miles longer than Houston's, but Houston's LRT has 2X the riders/mile.
